Michele Romano
was born in Greve in Chianti on February 1968.
He started practicing karate when he was 10, within the SH.K.CLUB of Greve.
His first Maestri were Oreste Minici and Sauro Somigli, then he continued with M° Roberto Piccini for three years and with M° Michelangelo Giordano for nine more years.
He gained the black belt in a Fikteda National Competition in Rome . He was the only athlete with brown belt allowed to join a competition reserved to black belts only.
He practiced the “shito ryu” karate style for a year in the “Meiji Kan“ gym in Civitavecchia ( Rome ) with M° Stefano Pucci.
He was an athlete of the Italian National karate team – trained by M° Takeshi Naito - for 13 years. He won all the most important National and International Competitions, becoming several times the European and the World champion .
He withdrew from all the competitions in 2003, after participating in those organised by I.T.K.F.,E.T.K.F, J.K.A., W.K.S.A., E.S.K.A., but he is still practicing karate, attending also several courses held in Italy by M° Hiroshi Shirai.
He's the technical chief in charge of the “Tzubame Sports Association” of Greve in Chianti.
